My son and I visited the historic French Lick Springs Hotel 3 days ago, This hotel is an absolute gem located in an out of the way small town in Indiana but is worth the trip! Awesome hotel and casino with a rich and glorious history. Thank goodness the Cook Group (out of Bloomington, IN) restored it to its original beauty along with the West Baden Springs Hotel located just a mile from this one. When it was completed, the West Baden Springs Hotel was dubbed “One of the 7 Wonders of the World”, deservedly so. I took a picture of my son standing next to one of the two Pluto statues in the local French Lick museum. This Life magazine issue (11-20-44) shows one of those statues that stood overlooking a portico on the backside of the hotel. The museum was able to acquire both of them and put them in their museum!
