9. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord:

My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

They go from strength to strength,
Every one of them in Zion appeareth
before God.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer:
Give ear, O God of Jacob.

Behold, O God our shield,

And look upon the face of thine an

1. THE name of the Lord is a strong tower;

The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

[Isaiah xxxii. 17.]

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation,

And in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.

[Psalm xxxvi. 7.]

How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;

And thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life:
In thy light shall we see light.

O continue thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee,

And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Let not the foot of pride come against

me,

And let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

[Psalm xxxiv. 7.]

O taste and see that the Lord is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints,
